Single gas 8.1 L HO

It's a tarpon boat so it needs a gas engine... it's a sound thing with tarpon... just trust me... been doing it long enough.

Thanks - yep, it is a 20 year old dream come true. The price was right on - it was no more expensive than a production boat and after meeting with Tim Winters, I can tell you the innovation and attention to details is superior to anything I ever dreamed of. We are building this thing one inch at a time and every inch will be thought out 10 different ways. Since it will be a tarpon only boat, there won't be any big fish boxes and lure storage will be tailor-made for tarpon lures we use. Right down to where the trash is going has been planned. Building a custom boat like this is the coolest boating experience I have ever had.

LOL. He already has one. Doubt he needs two. Though the spare parts may help him stay on the water more. SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Boy, isn't that the truth! All kidding aside, I finally have gotten mine right! Love that new boat. I am hoping one day to have a custom boat built. Need to save a lot more money first! Good luck and keep us updates on the build!

Hey Scott, you are still going to need to call the fleet on the radio when you arrive to explain that your motor is quiet! That is if you care to stay friends with any of them. lol. I'm sure you know how touchy everyone gets.

Looks like Winter builds incredible fishing machines. Thanks for pointing out that for near the same cost you could have your dream boat. It seems like every production boat has a few significant compromises. If you put as much quality thought into the boat as you do your tournaments, I'm sure it will be the envy of the Texas tarpon fleet!!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Can't wait to see the finish product.

Nice. Think I would have put a 400 gallon tank in her and have the perfect tarpon and floater boat. Wink
