Well, Just a update. We were having some fish raising problems and a vibration in the tower that we really didn't notice until Marlin season came around, Pulled her out last week and sure nuff 2 bent wheels!!!

Having the shafts checked and the wheels fixed, Slap some seals in and we should be back in bidnus next week.

Shane decided to add some bad ass underwater lights while she was out too so get nervous fish we are coming for ya!

BTW. Bottom looked great, gave her a pressure wash and that was all she needed.

couple of inches on the tips of one and just one tip on another, They have been that way a long time and the cavitation was starting to thin the blades. One needed 8 pounds and the other 6 pounds of brass put back on.

Sailfish loved it bent (4 in the last 2 trips ) but the marlin didn't dig it.

It was nice to finally set my own eyes on the bottom of the Cabo and I was really impressed with what I saw. I think WWI kept her clean this year. Laughing

Are you going to put Prop-speed on the running gear, or have you been using it already?
I've been thinking about doing it because of the agressive growth in Galveston, but haven't asked anyone other than Ed Bass about it. He's in such brackish water that I don't know if you have the same results.

Ted, the owner of the 53 Viking we fished, swears by the stuff. Says it is labor intensive to apply, but well worth it. He says the shit flys off the running gear with Prop-speen on. And I've scraped the wheels and shafts on the Viking at sea, NOT fun.

I have never heard anything but good stuff about prop speed! I even thought about putting on my boat that stays out of the water. They say it not only help with growth control that it will help a boat like mine in speed and economy! Kind of pricy though.

We put it on last season, skipped it this season. It's hard to justify the cost, and if you run the boat every week, don't really need it. My biggest problem, though, is that it doesn't seem to stay on the wheels that long, which is the most sensitive by far to any growth. Not sold on it.

That being said, if the boat was going to sit for more than 2 weeks at any point during the summer, better have something on the running gear, especially in Surfside Marina. Never seen shit grow that fast.

You would be hard pressed to find anything hard enough to stay on those wheels. Cavitation from the strut ect eats brass!!!! Now if you can make a coating outa ground up Barnies you would have something.

Best thing you could do is use it a lot and park by the fuel pumps. Wink

Same goes for GYB... after 10 days it looked like my wheels were breaking out with a rough case of genital herpes.
