I was thinking about giving POC a try on wed. Looks like it'll be 2 to 4's. As sporty as its been, has anyone fished off the Texas coast in the last two weeks? Are the fish still around?

That is right at their supposed threshold, were they rolling etc or blind strikes? Pretty cool.

Sorry I'm a little slow on getting back.

That day we rolled out of Freeport and headed south all the way to Matagorda looking for them. Water just did not look right. Headed out 25mi. off shore found a few ling. headed back a little north east of Freeport, all of a sudden the water started looking right the bait was there etc.... we motored around for a bit then just stopped when we found the bait. The rest was just easy. They showed up in our wake as I'm sure others have noticed. Thick as could be!!! Just turned around with the trolling motor tossed a few pops out and started casting to them. Plowed right through them. short pop goes off with a solid fish going nuts. 10 seconds later I cast to and hooked another good one. Of coarse they both went separate ways for the next 1/2 hour. Broke one off the leader at the boat and released the other one.

That was one of those great days when you just go hell yeah!!! No one had been fishing for them for several weeks and they just showed up. Sort of lucky really.
