KIRBY MARINA STEPS UP GAME!!Wow! Very Happy With the onslaught of new options available for offshore anglers in Freeport Kirby Marina has stepped up to the plate causing a previously unheard of epidemic in the Marine Industry...Competition! While still being over 40 cents per gallon less expensive on both Diesel and Gasoline by simply not price gouging they have effectively caused all the competition in the area to try and play ball. Thank goodness! The management at Kirby is going to great lengths to bring the marina to a new level. They are near completion of a new 750 foot Fuel dock that includes covered fuel pumps that work 24 hours a day, 10 new slips with no height restrictions for large sportfishing boats, and a brand new bulkhead. This dock is replacing the old fuel dock and is very easy to navigate and get in and out of. They have also decided to sell only certified ValvTect Fuel. http://www.valvtect.com/marine_fules.asp ValvTect is an additive that is used to protect both Diesel and Gasoline. This additive increases fuel economy, gives fuel a longer shelf life, and helps to prevent fuel problems that boaters sometimes face. ValvTect Diesel contains BioGaurd Micro-Biocidethis helps prevent bacteria and algae that plug fuel filters.
Kirby has also been listening to their customers about the marina’s functionality. People wanted new carts for the docks and they have spent over 2 thousand dollars just on new marina carts! There will be 2 new black two wheel carts on every dock. This will be a big help when hauling gear, ice, and fish to your car or to the new fish cleaning table that is under construction. The new fish cleaning area will be covered and have fresh water and a place to put fish carcasses that will be hauled away.

Last but not least the mechanics at Kirby have also come up with a way to help tenets with fluid changes. They have started a new program where they charge a flat rate for outboard fluid changes. All the tenet has to do is bring the products that they prefer be used, leave them in their boat, and Kirby will Service, Clean-up, and Dispose of all old fluids and filters for $95 for the first engine and $50 each additional engine. I thought this was a nice way to cost effectively get rid of the headache of changing lower unit oil on a lift. If you have any questions please feel free to give the folks at Kirby a call. They listen to their customers and are open to all new ideas. Reliable prices in the marine industry may have been a pipedream but Kirby is bringing just that to fruition! Kirby’s fuel will always be priced fairly, Jacking up fuel prices is not in their business plan. Here at Texas-Offshore we pride ourselves in getting fisherman the best deals possible. We always have up to date fuel prices on the home page. Pay attention when the season gets here. It will be interesting to see everyones fuel prices in July.

See you on the water,
